Steam link wont connect1/19/2024 ![]() It would detect my PC fine and would connect, but the connection would drop after a few seconds and the steam link would lose its network connection completely and have to reconnect. I had been using my steam link happily for a few months now, but when I started it up yesterday after not having used it for a couple of weeks it wouldn't stay connected to my PC. So from my perspective the only time the Link worked flawlessly was just after I bought it and I have no idea what builds those were. I'm a little loathe to revert the link's build since as far as I can tell the video (borderlands issue) started sometime in january (it used to when streaming anything from either computer) - now it appears to only happen on the amd desktop, but that may be that the i7 desktop hasn't been doing much streaming other than XCOM2. I've tried the firewall port settings => no effect.īoth computers are running the stable builds of Steam and the link is on it's latest build.Īlso occasionally if I turn the link on before the tv is set to the correct HDMI input the link won't actually work and I have to turn it off and then on again. The XCOM2 issue happens on Win7 Ultimate 64, 18gigs Ram, i7920, GTX770 4gig. The Borderlands issue occurs on Win7 Ultimate 64, 8gigs Ram, AMD Phenom II x4 955, GTX 550 TI 4gig, Both my host PC and steam link are directly plugged into the modem as well.I've been having issues with the link droping video for a few seconds and then reconnecting in Borderlands 2, and also the video stream crashing out completely and sending the link back to the main screen (the audio continues and the steam controller continues to function) in XCOM2. I even checked to make sure my computer is detectable by other devices on the same network. It goes from saying "ready" to "disabled" every 30 or so seconds. I turned off my firewalls, I reset my network, turned off and on the remote play, restarted steam, restarted my PC, restarted the steam link, nothing works.Īlso on the steam link where it shows the PC connection where it says ready. A code that tells me to input into the host PC but when I go to my host PC there is no pop up prompt for me to put the code into. That is what I thought too, but when ever I try to start up the connection through the steam link it gives me a "first time connection code". sets the code you need to enter on the device to begin streaming is to enter the code given on a link or device (will add it to the above device list) Originally posted by _I_:there are 2 types of pin codesĢ is used to begin streaming every time on any device I click back on steam link and get a new code on steam link and try to input that code in the pop up and nothing. I go back to my host pc, nothing has popped up so I click pair steam link again and input the code, screen blinks and closes my steam settings window and has the popup to enter the authorization code still there. So I try to start the connection and it asks me to input first time authorization code. I go back to the steam link, code is still on the screen I click back and see that my pc is connected. I use the other computer option, go to host pc click pair steam link through steam I input the code and it connects and says its paired. First off steamlink will not see my pc without me going to other computer option. Now I need to re pair my steam link to my pc. No solutions worked so I tried the last solution I could find which was to factory reset my steam link. I got sound from the steam link device and my browser through steam link. Now, when I got it back and plugged it in it connected to my already paired pc. So I had my steam link working but I had to get the 5V input reattached.
